Montelukast is used to prevent wheezing, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, and coughing caused by asthma. It is a leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA). Montelukast blocks the action of leukotriene D4 on the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor in the lungs and bronchial tubes by binding to reducing by this way the bronchoconstriction.
We have successfully synthesized standard of the Montelukast. This will be of interest to pharmaceutical companies and analytical labs.
