GA01088
Eserine is a parasympathomimetic alkaloid, specifically, a reversible cholinesterase inhibitor. It inhibits the acetylcholinesterase enzyme from breaking down acetylcholine, thereby increasing both the level and duration of action of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Physostigmine is a covalent inhibitors, it is used to treat glaucoma, Alzheimer’s disease, and delayed gastric emptying.
